Thousands of claims are being rejected by insurance companies due to something called 'fronting'.
It's when the person who owns the car, gets someone else (normally older and more experienced) to act a the main driver on a policy, then the owner drives as a named driver.
The reason behind it is that it can reduce quotes by hundreds of pounds. Now the main driver would hardly ever drive the car, which would mean that the are legally not the main driver, so should not be insured as such.
Even if no claim has been made, any driver found to be doing this, could be given a fine, 6 points on their licence and end up in court.
Is it worth saving a few hundred pounds at the risk of a larger fine and points? I don't think so.

Paying Insurance By Installments If Under 18
So you've passed your driving test, and you're paying for your insurance on your car. However if you are under 18, you can't pay it monthly as legally you cannot get credit.
There is a way around it though. Some insurance companies allow you to pay monthly, if you can provide someone over 18 to act as a guarantor, who can pay the monthly installment, should you not pay it.
Another option is a company such as eCar, where each month is a new policy, so no credit. However, this tends to work out more expensive.
